Level of Education
Secondary education attainment
The indicator is defined as the percentage of the population aged 25 to 64 year, who have completed upper secondary education (ISCED level 3 and 4) as their highest level of education. Secondary education usually takes two to four years and is primarily attended by students between the ages of 15 and 19. Some education programmes are academically oriented, others are more practically oriented through a combination of instruction in vocational schools and apprenticeship.
Tertiary education attainment
The indicator is defined as the percentage of the population aged 30-34 who have successfully completed tertiary studies as their highest level of education. This educational attainment includes e.g. university, higher technical institution, etc. and refers to the ISCED (International Standard Classification of Education) 2011 levels 5-8.
